Write an announcement to introduce the annual school fair and recruit student helpers.

2021年DSE英文寫作卷Part要求同學寫一篇Announcement，在早會上宣傳每年一度的學校遊樂會。同學應在文中介紹遊樂會設有甚麼活動，並說明同學可以如何幫忙舉行活動。

同學可能未嘗見過Announcement文體，不過也不用因此自亂陣腳，只要當成演講辭的格式寫作即可。同學用semi-formal 或formal register寫作皆可，不過招募學生時，可能以輕鬆親切的語言入文，適當使用rhetorical devices，例如反問，營造臨場感，會更能吸引同學。

 

DSE English Writing 5**技巧：

要求同學設計活動的Part A寫作題早於2012 Practice Paper和2017亮相，屢見不鮮。這類題目要求同學介紹活動時盡量鉅細無遺，構思越詳細，內容分越高。除了寫及題目提供的遊樂會舉行日期、時間和活動，同學還可以思考遊樂會的主題、舉辦目的和選擇在當日舉辦的原因等。

 

示範：

The annual school fair will be held from 12pm to 4pm on 29 May, the date when our school was founded, to commemorate the 20th anniversary of our school. All alumni, students, teachers and their families are welcome to join the fair upon purchasing a $10 ticket. Our school would not be able to continue to thrive without support from the neighbourhood. Therefore, to repay our gratitude towards the local community, a fundraising raffle will be held. The entrance fee and all proceeds raised in fundraising activities will directly go to the local community centre.

即便是同一活動，義工也可以有不同的崗位，例如球賽運動員和裁判；提交藝術品供展出和介紹展出的藝術品，同學可以以此組織文章和豐潤內容。同學在招募幫手時，亦可指出崗位所需的技能、預計需要人手數量和是否需要提前綵排。

示範：

For the alumni football match, we would like to recruit 11 students to form a team to play against the alumni team. Should more than 11 students volunteer, we would see if it is possible to arrange more than one student team. If another team cannot be arranged, we would accept volunteers on a first-come-first-served basis. Latecomers may become backup players on request. 

Football players aside, a student umpire is also needed to adjudicate the match. The umpire should be observant and well-informed about football rules. It would be more ideal if applicant had relevant experience as an umpire before.

同學最後結尾時，可以適當提供一些吸引學生成為義工的誘因。另外，同學亦應在文末提供個人連絡方式，以便有意同學聯絡。

You are encouraged to be a student contributor for the school fair: all student volunteers will receive better conduct grading in their report cards and three free tickets for their families and friends.
